Quad-Level
Characteristics of Quad-Level homes:
  • Low building cost per square foot
  • Three levels create separate living spaces
  • Easily accessible floor levels
  • Lower level has daylight windows
  • Basement beneath the main floor

The Quad-level home combines a one-story ranch with a bi-level and could easily be mistaken for a Tri-level. The difference is a basement.

The one-story level of a "Quad" is built over a basement that provides additional storage space and houses the furnace, water heater and other appliances that service the home.

The Quad-level, like the tri-level, makes it possible to accommodate quiet spaces, service spaces, and noisy spaces on multiple levels. The multi-level design is sometimes expanded to include additional levels for offices, exercise space or additional bedrooms.
